where does the time go?
can you believe it's September already? more importantly, my birthday is 13 days away...do you know what kind of present you're going to get me? LOL
hannah and i are actually taking a trip for my birthday week...we're going to Hawaii! my mom had originally asked to take hannah in May, to which byron and i both said absolutely not! my mom then asked if i wanted to go for our birthdays and that she was paying...so who can say no to that? well, byron did because he didn't want to be away from his baby for a week. so, he'll be joining us friday to monday of that week so that we can have our first family vacay.
1 more week 'til paradise!

Olympic Withdrawls
man, i hate this time of years every 4 years. it's like, i'm all happy and excited to see the Olympic games and then it goes away so quickly. i am so lame LOL
a couple of thoughts while watching the Olympics:
1. the 3 gayest Olympic sports in order of gayness (most gay being first listed): figure skating, gymnastics and diving.
2. Michael Phelps is the fucking MAN.
3. i pink puffy heart beach volleyball!
4. those Chinese really know how to do up an opening ceremony
5. i wonder what kind of death threats the judges for gymnastics and diving received, so that China could basically sweep those events.
6. i really want to go to Vancouver in 2010...especially if he will be there.

29th Olympiad
i love the Olympics. i don't know why, but i just do. i've been watching for as long as i can remember...and the Olympics will always remind me of my grandma. i remember one Olympics (i think it was the Winter 2002) i was actually depressed when it was over.
or maybe i was sad that i wasn't going to see Apolo Anton Ohno's fine ass in his tight little speed skating suit anymore? LOL

wanted: sense of humor
one thing Byron and I learned very quickly after having Hannah was that you need a sense of humor when dealing with a new human being. without this, you could basically go ape shit crazy because taking care of your offspring can prove to be very stressful.
here is an example of what we do when are sweet baby girl is crying:
but we take cute pictures too:

the joys of parenting
my girl has quite the set of lungs on her. my grandma told me once to let her cry so that she could have a nice singing voice like me. hannah crying is like 1,000 tiny knives stabbing my heart, not only for the sheer volume and the mercy on my ears, but because i have this natural instinct to just comfort her.
but how can you ignore a sweet face like this?

late night
the biggest piece of advice i got from new moms/moms was to sleep when the baby sleeps. well, it's 12:53am, the baby is sleeping...AND I AM NOT! so much for following advice LOL instead i thought it was a good idea to have an iced coffee with Byron and now we are both wired!
poor Hannah has jaundice and needed phototherapy because her bilirubin levels were unusually high. luckily, we didn't have to go to the hospital, but got to use a bili-blanket at home. we got her levels down and she's a lot less yellow than she was earlier in the week. she also got her heel pricked 4 times to check her bilirubin levels. she's a trooper, but mommy was not. i got all emo after her appointments LOL
she also had her first bath :) it was a very short one because miss thang was crying the whole time. maybe next week's bath won't be so bad!

prepare for the unexpected
this was the fortune i got in my last fortune cookie.
i've been on modified bedrest since last week, but cleared for pre-e.
i got a call from my doc and i have cholestasis of pregnancy. i'm going to L&D in the morning for a non-stress test. if passed, i get an amnio to check how mature the baby's lungs are. if they are mature enough...she's coming out.

modified bedrest
so as of July 3, 2008, my doc has put me on "modified bedrest." apparently, i can only stay up long enough to shower or make myself a snadwich. i should be relieved of all household chores (woo hoo!), but damn this nesting instinct is not letting me! i feel like we have SO MUCH to do before the baby comes and just not enough time. even my family is stressing me out...but ironically, no one has offered to stay with me in the coming weeks. i guess the think these household chores are going to take care of themselves.
i did do my first load of baby laundry yesterday though...i can't believe that i'm going to be having tiny being that will fit into those clothes!

did i really say that?
with temps reaching the triple digits yesterday and living in the geographical armpit of Northern California, byron decided that it was a good idea for us to go upstairs to our room (the coolest room in the house), strip down to our underwear and take a nap. now, as big of a nap advocate as i am (love 'em), i know that 8:30 pm is not appropriate "nap time." so instead we just laid in bed and i tried to keep him awake, so he could later go downstairs and clean up ant carcasses (we had our first major attack in like 3 years).
while lying in bed, i uttered those words that i always heard from pregnant women and never thought i would say outloud:
"i am so done and ready to have this baby"
we both gasped in disbelief...byron said, "oh no babe! you're there already?" and then proceeded to make a deal with the baby to come well after the 4th of July holiday.
sigh.
it's going to be a long 5 weeks.

ch-ch-changes
for the 5 people reading my blog, notice anything different?
that's right! i don't have my anniversary ticker anymore LOL jk
had to change my template because one of my stalkers wanted to be able to see my updates in Google Reader. good thing i've known her for 23 years and i actually like her...hehehe.
lately i've been getting scared that i will actually give birth to a boy and not to a girl. even though we stared at her goodies for a good 5 minutes while the u/s tech showed us what they look for in girl parts, i'm still a bit freaked. so freaked, that i'm actually considering those 3d/4d u/s that i'm against just to see her va-jay-jay. not that having a boy would be a bad thing, but i would just have a shitload of clothes to return LOL

popular
between byron and i, we get invited to hella shit. we are popular (yes, i know it sounds conceited...oh well LOL). i don't think that we have a free weekend until July 19. and even then the baby could come! woo...that's scary when you think about it.
in other news, i got a call for another wedding gig (thanks Rizzi!). very exciting. i thought for sure my "business" would have gone down the tubes since getting pregnant. not that i'm resentful of being pregnant, but it's definitely something i like doing and i think i'm good at it. the girl i talked to on the phone sounds so sweet and thankfully byron will be helping me! now if i could only guarantee that i won't miss my baby...

the countdown begins
people have stopped asking how far along i am and have started asking how much longer i have. geez. the time to push my child through my loins is fast approaching. at the end of this month (according to the baby books i'm reading), the baby will be between 5-6 pounds and 16-18 inches. whoa. doesn't the human head weigh that much? or wait (trying to remember lines from Jerry Maguire) is it 8 pounds? either way, i'm still in awe about the magic and miracle of life. i'm going to miss feeling (and watching) her move around in my belly, but that's it...you can take everything back, including the stretch marks and crotch pain LOL no, it wasn't that bad...definitely something i'd do again, just not immediately after like Byron had hoped LOL

um...what was i saying?
some funny things have happened to me lately...and unfortunately, my blogging audience will never hear about it because I FREAKIN' FORGET EVERYTHING as soon as i sit down to blog. WTH? i've also noticed that i've started to talk non-sensically...and making up words while i'm at it (see non-sensically).
a couple more lovely tidbits for those thinking about becoming mothers the old fashion way:
1. never let a hungry pregnant woman with a craving for BBQ go to the grocery. she will come back with Montreal seasoning and 2 bottles of Honey Garlic BBQ sauce for her boneless short ribs and 2 bags of BBQ flavored Wavy Lays.
2. never let a pregnant woman wash a sink full of dishes because at some point she will have to sit down and rest from standing (how fuckin' sad is that).
3. never let a pregnant woman watch "House Hunters" on HGTV because if the person on the show picks the house that she wouldn't have picked...9 times out of 10 whe will yell at the TV.
4. never let a pregnant woman watch "So You Think You Can Dance" because she will relive her glory dancing days and remember how skinny she was back then. 11 times out of 10, she will cry about it and say repeatedly, "i'm such a fucking cow!"
on a totally unrelated note...congrats to Ralph and Abby on their upcoming nupituals!

i hate everyone today
myself included because i've been so emo lately!
the one day i was hoping no one would bother me is the day that EVERYONE wants to bother me!
my cubemate moved to another cube and i can't help but take it personally :(
i brought spam for lunch today, but i'm not feeling it. chances are...i'll eat it anyway.
god...can i just crawl back into bed and start this day over?

age is more than a number
at least...that is what i'm learning whilest browsing MySpace. now that i'm about 2 months away from having an "outside" baby, it makes me wonder what i'm going to be like as a 20/30 something. you know that trend of MILFs and what not..."i can still party like i used to after kids" mentality...i wonder if that's going to be me. yes, i miss going out. yes, i miss getting drunk (it's been almost a year and a half if you can believe it...damn fertility treatments)...but what kind of example am i setting for my kid? i know, i know...she'll barely remember what she did five minutes ago...but what about when she actually does start remembering? am i gonna be up in the club, drunk off my ass and taking pictures...to be posted on myspace? god, i hope not. i'm an advocate of going out every now and then for a good time...but it just makes a mom-to-be think, you know?
i suppose i should add that these profiles are of kids...yes i said kids...that are younger than me. maybe that has something to do with it? i dunno.

burning questions
i've decided that i should get a shirt printed up with the following:
1. I'm feeling fine.
2. I'm due in July.
3. I'm having a girl.
4. Yes, I'm excited.
for the past 3 months, these have been the burning questions that people go out of there way and seek me out to ask. the funny thing about it...is that the same damn people are asking the questions! it's almost like they want me to know they weren't listening the first time LOL
since i spend a good portion of my day at work, i have a whole 'nother set of questions that are being asked:
a. When are you going on maternity leave?
b. What's going to happen when you get back?
my fave answer that i've given so far for question b was "apparently, everything is going to fall apart."

hit and run
i was rear ended on Tuesday morning by some dumbfuck as i was getting off the freeway. tried to pull over safely into a nearby, less busy street and the fucker DROVE OFF! my cell phone was dead so i couldn't call the police and i had to go to work to call. by the time i get to work (in less than 2 min), i start panicking about the baby. the receptionist calls the police and dispatch sends over 2 cop cars, a fire truck and an abulance.
they ask me a bunch of questions and transport me to the nearest emergency room via ambulance. once i'm in emergency, i undress and put on one of those backless gowns. Not flattering or comfy LOL i stay there for a max of 10 min to be told by the ER doc that i have a lower back strain and that the baby needs to be monitored in L&D for at least 3 hours. 3 HOURS! holy crap!
i'm wheelchaired up to L&D by an orderly who barely speaks english. he was a very nice man, but left me alone several times. i ended up in one of the birthing rooms where they strapped a fetal heart tone monitor and a contraction monitor on to me. well, baby girl did not like the contraction monitor because she kept kicking it LOL. even though the whole ordeal was a sacary experience, it was nice to listen to her heartbeat for 3 hours.
everything is okay so far...my back is still incredibly sore, but as long as the baby is okay that's all i card about. now i just have to deal with getting my car fixed and the insurance adjusters.

just another day at the lab
lucky me...i got to spend 3 glorious hours at the Stanford labs because i failed my 1 hour glucose test and had to take the 3 hour one. for those not familiar with pregnancy and the numerous blood draws, the purpose of both tests is to measure your tolerance for glucose within a certain amount of time. in my case, the 1 hour test (where i drink this nasty drink that basically tastes like flat orange soda and they draw my blood exactly one hour later) was not what my doc had expected, so i was advised to take the 3 hour. the 3 hour involves one draw for baseline, then drinking an even nastier drink (don't get lemon lime, the orange is much better), waiting one hour, then another draw, then waiting another hour, then another draw, then waiting another hour, then the last draw. if you were following correctly, you will notice that i was poked a grand total of FOUR FLIPPIN' TIMES and my arms resemble that of a heroin user. well...all for the health of the baby right?
the lab is an interesting hangout from 7-10am. people are very nervous and can't even follow normal directions like, "please take a seat in the room to your left." a woman ended up in the room on the right where all the testing supplies are and where they keep the samples...and i could hear her yell to the receptionist, "there are no seats in here!" there was also a baby that had to get their blood drawn...poor thing! but he was such a trooper! he just cried for the prick and that's it. but the funniest and cutest thing i saw...was this eldery couple. it was clear that the husband was forgetful and depended on his wife for everything. their daughter and son in law came with them to take care of all their paperwork because the eldery couple was clearly not in a state to do so. the husband is looking for his glasses, which they had determined were left at home. but this conversation must have happened at least 4 times:
old man: did i come in with my glasses?
wife/daughter/son in law: no you didn't
old man: well, where the hell are they then?
wife/daughter/son in law: they are at home somewhere.
old man: okay.
at least it wasn't as boring as i thought it was going to be. now, i sit and wait for the result.

unsolicited advice
everything i read was true...anyone that is walking erect and has vocal chords feels the need to weigh in on my pregnancy. now, i know that everyone means well...but i'm already made of glass (read: can break at any time), so i don't know if i can last the next 4 months without a) crying hysterically and rocking myself in the corner or b)going off on someone during an inopportune time.
but...i've found that all i can really do is laugh about it...like how i laughed about 2 male coworkers discussing my breast feeding options with me or how i laughed at my "aunt" nuzzling (think eskimo) my TUMMY (hello personal space!). i guess at this point that is all that you can do because, like stretch marks and loose skin after birth, it's inevitable and there is really nothing you can do about it!

the bandwagon
one of my biggest pet peeves is when people start liking something JUST BECAUSE its the "in" thing to do. for example, the Warriors. after their magical playoff run last year, all the sudden folks that didn't even have any interest in sports whatsoever are sporting Baron jerseys and spouting off stats like nobody's business. not that i'm a hard core fan like Byron, but i would definitely enjoy a game when the DunMurphy sisters ruled the floor.
along the same lines, people who try hard to be "down with the struggle" irritate me too. i know someone who claims to be biracial...um, your white. i've met your parents.
on a baby-related note: It's a GIRL!
one of my biggest pet peeves is when people start liking something JUST BECAUSE its the "in" thing to do. for example, the Warriors. after their magical playoff run last year, all the sudden folks that didn't even have any interest in sports whatsoever are sporting Baron jerseys and spouting off stats like nobody's business. not that i'm a hard core fan like Byron, but i would definitely enjoy a game when the DunMurphy sisters ruled the floor.

blind goldfish
i finally felt the glorious first movements of my fetus. now, if it's a girl or boy fetus, you'll have to wait 2 more weeks like everyone else LOL but seriously, i've never felt something so amazing! i read in the books that this time is a very selfish time for me in the sense that i only can feel the baby. i was trying to describe to Byron what it felt like and the only thing i could come up with was...blind goldfish bumping around in my uterus. Byron put his hands on my tummy and tried his hardest to feel that too, but it's still to early. he told me that he was jealous because he wants to bond with the baby. i felt horrible, but he'll feel he/she in good time. i can't wait until he does!
in other thoughts, it's kind of crazy how one blessed event can completely change (or not change) someone's perspective on life.

first trimester = done
well...to be fair, it was done about 2 weeks ago officially. baby is doing well and now all we are waiting for is our "big ultrasound" on March 14. we get to find out if we are on Team Penis or Team Vagina. oddly enough, there hasn't been an overwhelming response of what we are having. 50% of family and friends say boy...the other 50% say girl. i've been having dreams about the baby, but dressed in green or yellow clothing and the baby is about 6 months old.
how much do you want to bet we won't even be able to find out what we are having come the 14th? LOL

too. many. decisons.
brain. will. explode.
fuck man, i'm not even through the 1st trimester yet (but i will be in approximately 2 weeks!) and i'm already overwhelmed with what kind of stuff i will need to get for this baby. what kind of crib do we want? what color wood? should the rocker and glider match? should we keep it neutral and look now, or wait until we find out the sex and make it gender specific? so many questions...and no answer readily available :(
well...at least i found an interim cure for my constipation: oatmeal. although i fear that it is making me TOO regular. LOL here's the latest pic of the peanut taken last Thursday:

what a difference 1 month makes!

eat your veggies!
remember when you were a kid and your parents practically force fed you those microwaved frozen vegetables? i do. i also remember that when my brother was 5, my mom made him stay at the dinner table until he finished. not only did he finish, but he then proceeded to throw his whole meal up. i think he ended up getting a pb&j sandwich. man, talk about your excellent plans. he technically didn't "eat" his veggies and got a pb&j sammich out of it! but then again...i guess that's what happens when you are the youngest and the only boy.
but i digress from my original intent to this posting. even though the books tell you that you are supposed to have at least 5 servings of veggies/fruits a day...my mouth doesn't like it. i blame the fetus. fetus doesn't like veggies. but the fetus likes fruit.
sigh.

last post of the year
now...this is just me being honest with myself and since i don't feel like working, i supposed i should post one of them recap posts. you know, the ones that sum up your year and what you hope to accomplish in the new year.
well...it definitely has been an eventful year for us, in more ways than one. i think that for next year i just want to be financially secure and to not fuck up at this parenting thing.

8 weeks
Besides the occasional dry heaving, waking up in the middle of the night to go pee (at least 3 times mind you), the bloating, the emotional rollercoster I've been riding...it's kind of hard to believe that there is something living in my abdomen. Maybe because I don't feel any movement and the only real proof that I have that something is there is the picture below, but it's definitely surreal.
I think it's also because we have been waiting and praying about this for so long...and now that the day has finally arrived, we don't know what to do with ourselves. I'm going to enjoy this for what it is...even though I've already gone up a cup size and can't sleep on my stomach anymore. LOL
Ahh...the price you pay...

work it out
The main thing that I enjoy about my job is the people. My coworker and I have decided to get pimp cups. Mine will be pimped out with pink sapphires and his will be all white diamonds to match his all white suit with a mandarin collar and "Godfather" hat.
As Kanye would say, "Welcome to the good life."

visuals for the visually impaired
I went to Safeway today to pick up some lunch and what I was gonna make for dinner tonight. I'd like to share my observation of the 5 minutes I was in there.
1. Safeway employs a lot of handicapped folks. More power to them, but boy, did the lady in front of me in line looked pissed with the handicapped clerk.
2. Nutella is 2 for $5 until Nov. 22. SCORE!
3. The Asian folks working at the Sushi place in Safeway are surprisingly polite.
4. I saw directions on an ATM for how to use the ATM for the visually impaired. The font size had to be AT MAX 12pt. Talk about kicking someone when they're already down.
Time to raid the vending machine!

purple = delicious
I've always been a fan of Skittles, but for some reason...the purple ones tasted extra good with purplely deliciousness today. I ate them last, even though I normally save the green ones for last. Call it an off day or maybe I just wasn't feelin' the green ones to anchor my fun-size bag Skittles experience.
Now that I think about it, I eat them in this order:
1. Yellow
2. Red
3. Orange (if you suck on them, it tastes like Orange Tic Tacs)
4. Purple
5. Green
Now, I want more.

all clear!
so says the radiologist that took care of me today. wooo boy...i'm not gonna lie...it did kind of hurt. but it was only temporary and it was over as soon as it started. this procedure makes one temporarily fertile because it opens up the tubes. so, wish us luck!
how does one break up with a friend? is it too insensitive to be done over IM...or should this be a face-to-face and/or phone conversation?

Hysterosalpingogram
hys·ter·o·sal·pin·go·gram, noun,
X ray of the uterus and Fallopian tubes; usually done in diagnosing infertility (to see if there any blockages)
for those of you who are not familiar with such medical/scientific terms, basically dye gets injected in my hoo-ha by way of the cervix to see if there are any weird goings on that would prevent my eggs from getting where they are supposed to be.
exciting, no?
but that's the least of my troubles for now...

put yo stunna shades on
Last night, B and I went to a fundraiser at Cal-Skate in Milpitas. It was pretty fun considering that I haven't skated in about 15 years! It all went to a good cause though...those Rentar Girls! We went to El Torito for dinner and I asked my goddaughter to show me her thizzface...and she did it! OH MAN...I wish I had a camera for that!

and lame-o was her name-o
For those of you that know me well (or have at least some kind of encounter with me), I talk a lot of shit. Some of you love me for it, most do not. On theknot.com, they did not love me for it. There is something about wedding planning that makes women crazy and to be completely honest, I was just tired of seeing the same people post and the same dumb questions asked (um, hello? Have you people never heard of Google?). So yeah, I've made a few friends, but more enemies and as long as I don't find a severed horse head on my bed, I think I'll be okay.
Painting is fun, but very tiring. It's even more tiring when it is done to a home that is about 2700 square feet.

the bitch is back
Did you fuckers miss me? Probably not. HAHAHAHA.
I've been cheating on my blogs with message boards. I know, I know...but it's hard to write when no one really responds. Not that I'm an attention whore or anything (who am I kidding, yeah I am), but I like when people respond to me. Within the span of 3 weeks, I managed to piss several Bay Area Brides and Brides to be off, got myself banned from a message board twice and met a couple of really cool chicks. I guess you can say I've been busy, but it's nice to meet new people.
With that said, DO NOT EVER GO ON THEKNOT.COM THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SHADY ASS MUTHA FUCKAS AND I HOPE THAT SOMEONE SHITS ON THEIR LAWNS AND PEES IN THEIR CHEERIOS.

empathy
I hate it when people say, "I'm sorry you feel that way." 9 times out of 10, one is never sorry for the way another person feels, they just say that shit just to make it sound like they're concerned in some way. I don't buy that.
"I don't appreciate the fact that you belittle me in such a way."

greener pastures
I'm envious. Scratch that...I'm raging with jealousy right now. I don't know if it's because I've become more observant, but it seems as though everyone around me is either pregnant or has given birth within the last 6 months. What the fuck is up with that shit? So much for trying not to think about it...man. Who knew that this stuff would be so hard?

disconnected
I missed my homie's wedding this weekend because of a prior engagement (read: really expensive Warrior tickets for husband's Christmas/birthday present) and it got me thinking about how disconnected I am with my homies back in the UNE. I know that we all grow up eventually and go our different ways, but it's still hard to know that you made a lot of memories with these people and suddenly you find yourself surrounded by different people, people who you don't have much of a history with and who you never really feel completely comfortable around. Then you see your friends from you hometown and how their lives have changed (always for the good, thank God), but then you quickly realize that you play no integral part in it. It's almost like your watching a concert, you're a part of it in the sense that you are a spectator, but never really in the spotlight.
I know that it's just a simple fact of life that we all can't remain the same that we did, but if no one truly makes the effort is it a lost cause? Do I just cut my losses and move on? If that's the case, then I feel like it was all wasted and that I should have been more focused with the relationships that I know would stick. But I suppose you never know until life unfolds...

my first time
I remember that it was on a bus, on our way to a band competition. I was curious and nervous about putting something foreign in my body, yet I was compelled to it. People talked about how good it was and I wanted to be a part of that hype. Your first time is never what you expected and that’s exactly how it went.
Over the years, I had gotten used to the feeling but in college it turned into an addiction. I had to have it 2-3 times a day. Whether it was with friends, a special someone or on my own, I just couldn’t fight the urges. After moving back to the Bay, I became more adventurous. I tried different things, all to my liking. I even got my husband to try those things with me. I crossed the line to what most people call “raw.”
I love sushi.
Y’all can get your heads out of the gutter now, sheesh.

current events
I’ve been following this coal mining explosion story. First, they were trapped trying to be rescued. Then, all but one survived. A few hours later, all but one died. Families were heartbroken and outraged, rightly so, until closure in the form of notes left by the miners from the great beyond let them know that they “just went to sleep.” It got me thinking about our own morality. Some days, I think about how great life is and what it has in store. Then I think about getting older and dying. I know that it’s just a part of the journey we call life, but sometimes you can’t help thinking about it. **EDIT: I meant "mortality." Thank you Anonymous.**

confessions of a twenty-something drama queen
I have no work this week and I'm chillin' at my parents' house waiting for the children to get up so I can smother them with kisses and have them open their presents. I got my period this week and I'm feeling super crappy. I balanced my check book and after all my checks clear, I have exactly $4.77 in my account. That is some fucked up shit.
I yearn for a simpler time more often than not. I wish that people around me weren't so fake and transparent. Why do they gotta start shit in the first place? I also read to deeply into things. I have a knack for seeing things that aren't there. I like to play certain scenarios in my head in order to escape reality. I'm scared and excited about "growing up."

life lessons
6 things I learned yesterday:
1. USB Flash Drives are fucking expensive, yet I do think that it's a good idea to invest in one.
2. Byron and I can continue a fight/grudge for at least 2 days before the make up sex.
3. If you look hard enough, there are some phat deals at Bed, Bath and Beyond.
4. There's always someone, somewhere that knows my fucking husband.
5. I always thought that I couldn't flip my eyelids inside out, but I did yesterday...and let me tell you, it hurt like hell.
6. I get excited with the thought of baking something from scratch.

dirty laundry
So...shoot me because I haven't updated lately. You can always check my xanga or just email me! My life has been pretty busy lately! With the Holidays soon approaching, getting all this new furniture and starting a new job, I've been very reflective lately. I think about all the stuff that I've done in the past, some fairly scandalous and others the complete opposite, I'd write a book like Nicole Richie. But I wouldn't say that it was "loosely based" on my own life, it would straight up be my life.
I've been thinking about how short life is and how much I can share with the world. I'd hate for my kids or the people I love to make the same mistakes that I did, but I know that my good intentions aren't enough. I feel like if I can make some positive impact by being candid and unrestrained, people could really use that for their own personal growth and acheivement.
I'm just as crazy, smart, and funny as everyone else. Why should I have anything to hide?

deck the halls
Fa Ra Ra Ra Ra...Ra Ra Ra Ra...(I love that movie)
Only 24 shopping days 'til we celebrate the birth of my man Jesus Christ. So many people, so little time. First we must compile a list of the lil munchkins in our lives:
Taryn
Royce
Alyssa
Jonah
Rianna
Kalia
Alexa
Jamie
Joey
Christian
Michael
Lester

whoa, whoa, whoa
I learned that today in training as a way to "overcome an objection."
I also learned that when Filipino people say that they are from the Fresno area, they're really from Lemoore and there is a good chance that they know Byron's cousins.
Byron said that he was going to buy me a Derek Fisher Warriors jersey...that's my bitch! And my fave # too!
Jason Mraz is my other husband. My new favorite song is "Wordplay."

Missing In Action
It's been awhile since I've blogged.
That's what happens when you get married and go on vacation for 3 weeks.
I thought that I wouldn't be on here very often anymore seeing as how I started a new job today and don't get as much QT with the internet as I did in my previous job...but now that my husband and I are proud owners of a Mac Mini, my blogging times have changed from the day shift to the evening shift.
People always be talking about a hiatus...but I get bored too easily and internet stalking is fun.

the waiting game
I hate this game. Ironically, I play it a lot.
2 weeks ago, I had a 2nd interview. 1 week ago, I followed up and was told that my background check was still in the works. Today, I'm just waiting. Boo.
4 stupid things that Dawn did today:
1. Passed the on ramp to go to work because she thought it was closed, but wasn't.
2. Spilled coffee on her light pink shirt while driving.
3. Kept jean jacket on to cover coffee spot even though it's like 80+ degrees out.
4. Left her car keys in the bathroom.
Back to waiting...

my mom thinks I'm cool
Actually, my mom thinks I'm crazy, but the feeling is mutual.
My mom and I have a very interesting relationship. I can sit and vent to my mom about anything and everything, but it wasn't always like that. She used to be all judgy and shit. She actually still is, but I think that I've learned to just ignore what I don't want to hear. I was at my parent's house on Tuesday and I swear the whole time she was yelling at my dad. I finally had enough of her yelling and said, "Why are you yelling at him? I think he can hear you perfectly fine." Then she said that Royce doesn't like it when she yells at my dad. I'm sure that he doesn't like it either.
The sad thing is, I do the same thing to Byron. At least now I know why.

names
I'm bored as hell here at work, so I browse xangas. Who the fuck names their kid Jazzlyn and thinks it's cute?! Doesn't this qualify as child abuse? I'm all for a unique name (I mean, how many DAWN's do y'all really know beside me?), but that name IRKS.
2nd Interview went okay. Cross your fingers people.

it's my party and i'll cry if i want to
I sure did. LOL.
Only in my sick, twisted, little world I would actually believe that Byron will ditch his softball game to make me feel better. But I'm smarter than that...there are just some things I can't compete with.
I'm getting sick. Great.
I'm tired of dealing with stupid people. So tired, that I think I'm just not going to act smart anymore. I'll be as dumb as them and that'll really piss them off.
Is it 5 o'clock yet?

please stop this ride
I's like to get off now. Really...like right now. I spent a good part of the morning on worry status because I didn't get an email from my husby. Before you pass judgement and classify me as a psycho bitch, let me explain why these morning emails are important.
Byron and I both work about 45 miles away from our home, which means that we average about an hour and a half on the road every morning. Byron also drives a vehicle that is older than 10 years and has had some trouble with it. Because I'm not officially his wife, I'm not considered next of kin and if something were to happen to him...it would be a while before I'd find out.
After the 50th time trying to call his office phone, he finally answers. I'm relieved and pissed at the same time. There is just entirely too much going on in my life right now and SATURDAY can't come soon enough. If you haven't responded, do it now bitches.

will and grace
I hear it's the last season...would anyone like to confirm? I thought it was supposed to premiere last night...NOPE! Unless it's on a different night and I did not get that memo. The DVDs definitely go on my "must buy" list. I love it because it reminds me of my most favorite homosexual on earth...
I watched that hour long special on Lifetime and I almost peed in my pants from laughing so hard..."Denied...denied...Approved. Good times. I love TV.
I also caught the premiere of "Everybody Hates Chris." My advice to you all: Watch it. Seriously. It's pretty effin' funny. If you are so inclined to continue to watch something else afterward Love, Inc. ain't that bad either. It's one of those guilty pleasure shows.

soy un perdador
I guess the correct way in Spanish should be the feminine way (seeing as how I am a woman, at least, last time I checked I was). So...soy una perdadora whatever, I'm still a loser because I spend my time on the internet surfing and looking at things that more or less make me stupider than when I was puffin' the cheeba back in the day. Snooch.
After being acosted several times by a friend's man at Byron's weekly softball game, I learned some disturbing news about my dear ex. Before I delve in, I'd like to say that my ex and I have a very good relationship, no hard feelings and he is invited to our wedding. In fact, I got his RSVP for him and is current GF (also my friend) which is more than I can say about SOME people...but whatevs...that's not the flavor right now. Anywho, I come to find out that he doesn't have very many fans and by his behavior was looking to get an ass-whoopin' by none other than...one of Byron's softball teammates.
I can see how he could rub people the wrong way and be a jerk, but I guess this was something that I didn't need to know about him. Not that it'll change our relationship in anyway...but it just kinda sucks to know that someone you loved (and actually still do, but in that friend way) wasn't all that they had seemed.

dyslexia
As brilliant as I may seem, I think that I have may have a mild case of dyslexia.
I smashed my finger in the garage door.
Me: "Oh my, my finger is turning purple."
Ralph: "What happened?"
Me: "I just smashed my finger in the door."
Ralph: "Dude, are you that drunk?"
Me: "Apparently..."
Clearly, I should not be opening and closing doors after a couple of glasses of wine.

hair today, gone tomorrow
I don't know if it's stress or weather related, but my hair is falling out.
I'm hoping that it's a combination of both and that it ends in the near future because I'd like to have some hair left for the wedding. So to counter, I've been drinking 2 glasses of milk a day AND taking a multi-vitamin. I'm not taking any chances.

weekend update
I just realized that the next 3 weekends (or Saturdays at least) are booked. Man...I don't have time for anything it seems! This weeked was especially eventful, with both mom's birthdays, a night at Saddle Rack and engagement photos!
Saturday: San Jose for Mom Evangelista's birthday. It was more like just eating lunch with her because she had to get ready for those dinner/dances they always go to! Walked around Eastridge mall to see the renovations and was kind of impressed! Headed over to Fremont for line dancing and mechanical bull action...nice.
Sunday: Union City for Mom Soria's birthday. Saw my brother (who I hardly ever see) and the kiddies which is always a good time. My cousin and his kids came by but only as wee were leaving so I was kinda bummed about that. Engagement pics taken at MH and I had a smashing good time! I can't wait to see them!
*sigh* Back to work...

hair did
I have an appointment for some highlights and a cut in about 3 hours. Whoopie! I'm so not feeling work at the moment, although I know that there are some things that I need to do. I was so busy over the past couple of days that I think this is my brains way of telling me "Enough Already!"
Or maybe I'm just a lazy person. I've always suspected that.
This hair appointment couldn't have come at a better time because I'm having a craptacular hair day. I must look so whacktified* right now. I'm not sure if I want to cut my bangs again or make them thicker...how risky I'm being with less than 2 months from the big day.
I've had much on my mind lately...not all bad, but not all good. Some wedding related, most non-wedding related. You know that feeling when you're taking a long road trip and you're about 1 hour from your destination? That 1 hour seems like F-O-R-E-V-E-R. That's what I feel like.
If I could only get those voices to quiet down so I can clear my head. jk. They only speak when they are spoken to.
*this word I made up as I was typing. please use it sparingly.

wednesday already?
I just got a message from a customer about one of our agents and they are "unsatisfied" by the claims handling process and want to talk to my boss. It makes me angry. I guess it's because I was in a claims office and know how it goes. You can't force people to talk to you or force the police department to send you a report. People just don't get that...and even if you do tell them, they for some reason think the world revolves around them and that gives them the right to treat people like shit. Customer service my ass...under normal circumstances, are you supposed to take that from a person? I mean, am I really supposed to have someone yell at me, make me feel like I'm about 7 inches tall and take this with a smile? FUCK THAT. You don't know shit about me. I'm like you, tryin' to make a dollar out of 15 cents with this piece of shit job. This whole "the customer is always right" is straight bullshit...yet I manage to get into jobs where I have to have some sort of expertise on this. Ugh.
Luckily, I'm not in claimsland anymore. I used to think that I wanted to be an insurance agent, but if I gotta deal with people like that on a daily basis...no thanks. The plan is to still get my insurance licenses before the end of 2006 so at least I have that to fall back on...I'm starting to also consider getting licensed in event coordination. Who knows...the possibilities are endless.

2 months!
Holy Mother of Crap...September is finally here! 9 days 'til my birthday!
Went to 2 weddings in the same day on Saturday...and could they be any farther away from each other? MAN! Drove to SF for to see Mr & Mrs Bustos amke it legal under God's eyes, then hauled ass to Modesto for C-lo & Steph's reception. Both events were like UCSB KP reunions...it was awesome.
Some highlights from Jenn's wedding: Jenn's BEAUTIFUL dress (it was worth all the drama, she looked GORGEOUS), CherILL's hair (couldn't really picture it any other way), bums in the church (homeless people can enjoy weddings too), CherILL handing Jenn some pills to pop after the ceremony (Byron said, "Dang, getting the party started already?"), seeing my girls all pretty...I wish there was 2 of me and Byron so we could have gone to both receptions...
Some highlights from C-Lo's wedding: Open bar & 2 bottles of wine at the table (hell fucking yeah), Seeing old bandmates (go C4S), seeing Miss Kini and E-Fresh , dancing w/ Babe and the kiddies, Money dance w/ C-Lo (and the Filipino mafia aka KP Joe & Gabe "escorting" me away after 10 seconds of dancing...WTF?). Just drunk stupid retardedness the whole night leading to me face down and passed out next to my niece (such a good example I am) and a mild case of alcohol poisoning the next day...good times.
"YES! FINALLY...CSUH is outnumbered by UCSB!"

4 day weekend
Today is my Friday...HAHA bitches! I get 4 days off! I heard a funny joke today on the radio, stop reading if you've heard this one...
Two guys were drinking at a bar on the top floor of a hotel. One decides to challenge the other to jump out the window because drunk guys are stupid like that. Anyway, the first guy says to the second guy, "Dude, I dare you to jump." The second guy, who is clearly smarter than the first says, "No way man...we're on the top floor!" The first guy is insistant, "Check it out...it's super windy, so if you jump out, then the wind will just blow you back in." Still skeptical, the second guy declines. The first guy says, "Look, I'll do it and you'll see."
The first guy jumps out the window and low and behold comes right back in. "See?" he says. With a sudden surge of confidence, the second guy puts his drink down, steps back for a running start, then proceeds to swan dive and plunge to his death. The first guy picks up the second guy's drink and walks back to the bar.
The bartender says to the first guy, "Superman, you're such a fucking jerk when you're drunk."
Only 15 shopping days 'til my birthday!

customer service my ass
Reason #12658 why Dawn has it in for old people:
They are the rudest, most self righteous people in the world.
Now, I'm not talking about those cute little 80-90 year olds (like my Grandma) that you just want to fold up and put in your pocket...I'm talking about those 70 somethings, who are for whatever goddamn reason are still working, still driving there "luxury" vehicles around and going about 45 in the fast lane. Yeah, I'm talkin' about those folks. They clearly are out of their head and still in the 60 something mindset. What fools. I'm so glad I hung up on one of them today. In claims, I would have to take it...but not here. Yeah, baby.

don't be jelly
I've learned my lesson about putting people on blast. And I mean that in the nicest, most appreciative way possible. For real. I'm nervous and anxious when confronted by those things, but after the fact I really feel good and accomplished.
So for those who have been following on my xanga and here (I think I mention it here, if not check out the xanga for the details), some new developments: "Byron and I are 'weird'". WTF. Because we're living together? Because we talk and engage with each other? Because he's not afraid to kiss and hug me in public? Because we have a healthy realtionship? If it's because of all those things...then yes, we are weird. SUPER FRICKIN' WEIRD.

hopping mad
"Hopping mad" is such a weird term. When I think of "hopping," I think of bunnies and aren't they usually happy? It's almost like an oxymoron.
Anyway...2 things made me hopping mad last night. One was justified and the other was not. haha. About a week ago, there was a family that was killed on I-5 because some stupid ass drunk driver was going the wrong way. The family wasn't even from here, they were from the East coast. Can you imagine? Your vacationing somewhere and you fucking die. It made me think of all the idiot drivers on the road and I was livid. How dare they make such a decision to wrecklessly drive and take away a young family's life? Ugh...it makes me sick to my stomach just to think about it.
As for the other thing, Byron and I had a yelling match over ceremony readings. In comparison to the other thing, it was pretty stupid.

In comparison to the other thing, it was pretty stupid.

ghetto
It must be bad if you're pulling some MacGyver shit that you used to do in college.
I hate fake ass breezies who are nice to your face and then turn around and run their mouth every chance they get. They're trendy asses walk around like their shit don't stink and that everyone loves them.
You'll get yours bitch. Just because we're almost family doesn't mean I won't take off my earrings and put on some Vaseline to give you a good old fashion beating. Okay...some of that wasn't true...I don't wear earrings.

entertain me
My boss is out of the office once again until Friday. I printed out what needed to be printed in terms of the wedding (labels for remaining favors, sheet for unity candle), browsed all sorts of different websites, ate lunch, helped some agents, made phone calls & emails. It's is almost 3 o'clock and I am bored out of my goddamn mind.
I should just leave early.

Kiddies
We get the kids tonight...woohoo! When I was at my dress fitting yesterday, Taryn kept saying, "Don't forget I am going to your house tomorrow!" and the Roycee would say, "Yes, house a'morrow." Hecka cute. I get to babysit them on the the Friday before Labor day weekend...I need to tell my boss I want it off.
My sister asked Byron to take a day off to babysit between the time she goes back to school (she's a teacher) and the time my grandmas come back from Canada. I know Byron pretty well and part of him wants to do it, while the rest of him is scared out of his mind. He scared because he doesn't know what to do with them. What if one of them chokes? What do I do? Not the avid problem-solver and it's hard for him to step outside his comfort zone. When he's around them, I'm there to take care of everything. I asked him if he'll still be scared when we have kids. He said he had 9 months to learn everything there is to know about babies. Did I mention that he doesn't hold newborns either? I see his point, but I can't force him to do it. My sister's gonna be disappointed...

People will say what they want. I can't change what's being said about me and I have already taken responsibility for my actions. I've been in contact with the other party involved and I thought it was resolved amicably. Whoever left this comment, if you're intentions were positive, thanks for looking out...if the intentions were negative, I am aware of what's going on. Leave it alone, I've put it out of my mind since then.
I hate having to put a disclaimer on everything...but I'm not trying to generate more shit talking by posting this. I just want to let my folks know that I'm over it. It's over...it's done with...let's move on.

yes!
Looks like Class of '97 is actually going to be hanging out next week. Finally! Geez...who knew that it would take a month to get 7 busy ass people together? I'm really looking forward to it. I guess we just need to make a decision on where to meet...and then all the skeletons come out of the closet! Well...at least what can come out over the course of a few hours, but y'all know what I mean!
Poor babe can't go to his 10 year reunion because we'll be on our honeymoon then. Kawawa. Why didn't the committee have it in the summer? Oh well...we can go to mine in 2 years. HAHAHA.

there should be a law
That bans old people from certain things. No, I'm serious. I know that this sounds ageist, but whatever...not a day goes by, not a day...where I don't have to deal with the hijinks of some old person. Usually, I'm on the road when it happens, but today it was in the supermarket.
I'm waiting in line at the express cashier and it clearly states "10 items or less." There was an old woman in front of me with like 50 bajillion things in her cart. The cashier says to her, "Ma'am, this aisle is for 10 items or less." She replies by saying that she cannot see the sign. He lets her through, but then she also says, "If anyone is in a hurry, that's too damn bad." I kid you not. This bitch has the audacity to say this in front of a line of 3 that's forming behind her when the cashier was kind enough to let her through the line. At least she wasn't paying with a check because then Dawn would have to choke a bitch. And what makes me the most angry about this situation is that this bitch had a younger friend with her! Why the fuck didn't your friend tell you to go to another line?
So lame.
